CasaBrews 3700 review
Updated 2026-06-13
A compact budget espresso machine sold direct and on Amazon, with a stainless body, a Thermoblock heater and a steam wand. It comes in an Essential version with a 51 mm portafilter and a GENSE version with a 58 mm portafilter and pressure gauge.
Our opinion
6.5/10
Punchy on price
For the price of a few bags of beans, the CasaBrews is a real way to find out if you like making espresso. Ignore the 20 bar sticker, which is marketing: brew pressure is regulated down to where it should be. If you buy one, get the GENSE for its 58 mm portafilter, which opens up the whole accessory world. Treat it as a capable starter, not a forever machine.

What works
- +Very low price for a stainless machine with a real steam wand
- +The GENSE version uses a 58 mm portafilter, the commercial size
- +Auto-purge readies it for brewing quickly after steaming
The catch
- –The 20 bar figure is the pump rating, not brew pressure, which is regulated far lower
- –Build and longevity are budget-grade; long-term reliability is the open question
What owners say
Recurring themes from public owner discussion (retail reviews, r/espresso threads, video reviews), paraphrased. Checked 2026-06-13.
Comes up as praise
- +Hard to beat on price for a stainless machine with a steam wand
- +The 58 mm GENSE version takes standard aftermarket accessories
- +Heats quickly and is simple to live with
Comes up as gripes
- –Budget build invites doubts about how many years it will last
- –Stock steam wand and baskets are basic; many owners upgrade them
