Buy it for the workflow
Almost everything written about this grinder is about retention, and that undersells it. The real thing you are buying is a machine that disappears: weigh a dose in, get the dose out, change beans without a second thought, at a volume that does not wake the house. In the cup it is very good at espresso and merely fine at pour over, because the same conical burrs that build a forgiving puck also make fines that mute a V60. So buy it if espresso is the point and a tidy bench matters to you. If filter is your main brew and you want clarity above all, a flat burr grinder at this money will beat it, and we would rather you knew that before you spent it.

About Niche
Niche Coffee is a small British company that makes single-dose grinders for the home. It has released only two products since the Zero arrived in 2019: the conical-burr Zero and the flat-burr Duo. Both are built around grinding one dose at a time and leaving almost nothing behind.
