Baratza Encore review

Updated 2026-06-10

An entry-level conical burr grinder that grinds consistently enough for drip and pour-over. Baratza sells every replacement part, so a worn Encore gets fixed, not binned.

How we score →

The Encore is the grinder we recommend with no asterisk for drip and pour-over. It is not an espresso grinder, so do not ask it to be one. What it is: consistent, repairable for a decade, and boring in the best possible way. A scale and an Encore will fix more bad coffee than any new brewer ever will.
